This trope is generally associated with youthfulness, since chewing gum communicates that the character likes candy, feels the need to constantly be doing something, and/or is easily amused, all traits associated with children. The gum is almost always shown as being colored pink. The bubbles being blown are often far larger than what is possible in real life. The bubble will then pop for comedic effect, often covering the face and clothes of the person chewing gum or in extreme cases their entire surroundings. In fiction, any time a character is chewing gum it's usually bubblegum, and when there's bubble gum a character is probably going to blow a bubble. Elasti-girl:(“Fwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh!”) That last blast of mouth air made the gigantic bubble go: “POP!”, all covered half of earth, and Codsville in bubblegum. Elasti-girl:”(Fwooooooooosh! Short Inhale, Fwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh!)” The bubblegum bubble got bigger than Codsville, Maine, and even the earth itself! Elasti-girl blew the bubble so big, it made sky look bubblegum-pink! Just then, a meteor bounced off the bubble making it jigged, but Elasti-girl didn’t care as much, and took one more breath (Elasti-girl:“Long Inhale”) before blowing as hard as she can. Elasti-girl: “(muffled by the big wad of bubblegum in her mouth,) Let’s do this.” Elasti-girl chewed her bubblegum as her mouth cheeks jigged up and down and took a DEEEEEEEP breath, (Elasti-girl:”(Inhale)”) and blew the biggest, plumpiest, pinkest bubblegum bubble she could. Elasti-girl:”Hmmm, I wonder how big a bubble I can blow…?” So, Elasti-girl stretched her arm into the gum store to buy some more bubblegum, unwrap the wrappers and put them in the trash, and toss the giant handful of bubblegum in her mouth. Elasti-girl:”That was a big one!” Elasti-girl blew a bubble which she hugged until it popped all over her, then she blew a bubble that made float until it popped, then she blew a bubble, took it out mouth, and bounced on it for hours. Elasti-girl took a deep breath, (Elasti-girl:”(Inhale)”) and blew a big bubble (Elasti-girl:”(Fwooooooooosh)”) that popped and made her giggled a bit. Elasti-girl chewed her bubblegum (with her mouth open and sometimes closed) for a while, until the gum wad was completely chewed. Elasti-girl:“ Ooooh, finder’s keepers!“ Elasti-girl picked up the bubblegum, unwapped it, put the wrapper in the trash, and plop the bubblegum in her mouth as she walked towards an empty safe spot near a gum store.
One day in Codsville, Elasti-girl was walking through town when she some bubblegum on floor.
